Route 220 Diner Reviews

I had the French toast and a side of chipped beef gravy. Both were wonderful. They were even able to provide sugar free syrup, as I am diabetic. The restaurant was very busy around 1 in the afternoon, but the service was above and beyond.

I was staying at a local hotel, and saw this diner was close by so stopped in. I love visiting local diners! The diner was hopping and luckily I got the last open table. The menu had a broad variety of breakfast and lunch items - I ordered the western omelet and crispy bacon. The waitress came quickly and brought much-needed coffee! The atmosphere was fun and relaxing while I waited for my food. It arrived quickly considering all tables were taken - hot, aromatic and delicious! I would recommend you stop in

We camp nearby and have wanted to try the diner for some time. We finally went this morning and we loved it! Quaint atmosphere, attentive service and great food! 220 Burrito was delicious and plentiful. Strawberry stuffed French toast was also very good! Check it out if you're in the area.

Read the negative reviews so purposely came out of my way to support this small business!

Great lunch! Hot food, friendly service! Fifties vibe decor. We used to stop at this location when it was under a different name. It went downhill. Not sure if new owners or what but it is now a great stop for lunch.

The diner seemed to be very popular with people who, (based solely on looks -- like clothing and attitudes) seemed to be local, not travelers. The interior was teeming with fun vintage posters and current advertising place mats. Because there were a lot of people, space was a bit tight. But it fit with the diner vibe. There were a couple of decorations with modern political overtones, including a little sign on the lobby entrance door. The sign was from a different time (Covid,) but it plus the other (bobble-head) may be enough to make some people, with any type of political opinion or non-opinion, uncomfortable if they don't want to talk or think about politics during their meals amongst strangers. The food was tasty and priced well for the generous portions served. The service was quick, and the employees were happy and friendly. The diner accepts credit cards, but there's an extra fee. This doesn't seem to be unusual, though. I'd recommend bringing cash, and adding the "savings" for not using a credit card to your tip!

A true diner with good food! Based on Yelp reviews and the fact that it is full of locals versus tourists we wanted to try Route 220. Our waitress was friendly to everyone, she was efficient and took care of us well. We waited just a second to be seated, looked briefly at the menus while she brought us water and coffee. Hubby had the bowl and I ordered a traditional meat, potatoes, eggs and pancakes. It also came with toast and I asked for a biscuit, "sure sweetie- no problem " the biscuits were very good. Everything was good, and it was so much food, quite the bargain - we commented that both meals cost us less than one elsewhere. I really wanted to try a piece of pie because that seemed to be their specialty but I was too full. The menu board of pies would bring be back if I'm ever in the area again.
